About Richie Hawtin: Richie Hawtin is a British-born Canadian DJ and producer who is a leading figure in minimal techno. Raised in Windsor, Ontario, across the river from Detroit, he immersed himself in that city's techno scene and in 1989 co-founded the Plus 8 label with John Acquaviva.
