About Mike Nervous: Mike Nervous is the DJ name of Michael Weiss, who revived his father Sam Weiss's disco-era label Sam Records in 1989 and co-founded Nervous Records with him in New York in 1991, remaining its president. Under his direction Nervous became one of the defining East Coast house labels, with a catalogue spanning house, disco and soul plus hip-hop, reggae and techno sub-labels. He is not a prolific producer: his credited studio work is limited to the 'MW Smooth Mix' of Black Moon's 'Who Got The Props' (1992) and executive-producer and compiler credits across the Nervous catalogue, including Kenny Dope's 'Nervous Hip Hop' mix. As a DJ he co-promotes Nervous nightlife events in New York with Benny Soto, played Mixmag's The Lab NYC in 2017 and recorded the Magnetic Mix 165 for the label's 30th anniversary in 2021.
