About Mark Farina: Mark Farina is an American DJ and producer, a pillar of the Chicago and San Francisco house scenes who started DJing at 15 and made his production debut in 1989 as one-third of Symbols & Instruments with Derrick Carter and Chris Nazuka. He is best known for his Mushroom Jazz sound and long-running mix series — acid jazz, hip-hop beats and jazzy house — launched as a San Francisco club night in 1992 and released largely through OM Records.
